Most anticipated coasters of 2019

2019 is a good year for us as coaster fans. All around the globe coasters are opening: giant and small, family and thrill. Some more exciting than others but it's always good to see that theme parks are still investing in a good amount of steel or wood.
Today we will have a look at the most exciting projects of 2019. Are records going to be broken? Are we going to see some new inventions? Let's take a look..

Untamed - Walibi Holland

Untamed is probably the largest investment in Walibi Holland since Six Flags Holland. The old coaster 'Robin Hood' is being converted into an awesome RMC. Did you know that 'Robin Hood' was one of only 3 wooden coasters built by Vekoma? Together with the 'Werewolf' in Walibi Belgium and 'Thundercoaster' in Tusenfryd. The coaster was really rough and screamed for a good rehab. Well 2019 is the year for change!

Length: 1085 meter
Speed: 92 km/h
Height: 36,5 meter
Vertical Angle: 80 degrees
Inversions: 5
Fun fact: Did you know this is the second RMC of Europe? Wildfire in Kolmarden zoo was the first one. At this moment there are 18 RMC's on earth. The biggest of them all is Steel Vegeance in Cedar Point.

Yukon Striker - Canada's Wonderland

Stacks Image 751

B&M Dive Coasters are always growing and getting better. The biggest so far was Valravn, but another coaster is stealing the price: Yukon Striker. The biggest and newest dive coaster of them all. Located in Canada's Wonderland near Toronto. It will be the 17th coaster of the park.
It has a drop of 74,7 meters and a top speed of 130 km/h, also the coaster will be the first diver with a normal looping! After completing a track from over 1100 meters and 4 inversions you will arrive in the station. By then you've conquered the biggest dive coaster in the world!

Stats:
Length: 1104,9 meter
Height: 68 meter
Drop: 74,7 meter
Speed: 130 km/h
Inversions: 4
Duration: 3:25
Passengers per train: 24
Capacity: 1310
Fun fact: Alton Towers wanted to build a drop tower, but they didn't got the permission because of the height of that type of attraction. Instead they came up with the idea of building a rollercoaster with the sensation of a droptower: Oblivion! That was the beginning of the dive coaster. It opened 21 years ago in 1998 and is the first dive coaster in the world.

Mission Ferrari - Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi is famous of its record breaking coasters. The park has the fastest rollercoaster on earth, awesome Intamin coasters and even a duelling Maurer! Everytime it needs to be bigger, faster and always more awesome. But what if you want too much? Meet Mission Ferrari, hopefully the newest addition to the park. The outdoor track finished construction in 2015, but now 4 years later the coaster still hasn't opened.
Is 2019 finally the year that this coaster will open? The coaster will be revolutionair, it is the first SFX coaster built by Dynamic Attractions. Has (according to rumors) two 3D screens, a tilt track, drop track and at least 2 inversions. But due to all the inventions the opening is delayed, and delayed, and delayed. The park finally has a sign new the entrance with: 'opening soon!' So will 2019 be the year that this prototype will finally open? We are looking forward to it…

Stats:
Length: 542 meters
Speed: 72 km/h
Inversions: At least 1 confirmed
Passengers per train: 9
Fun fact: In Kuala Lumpur another SFX coaster is being built in the 20th Century Fox themepark. The coaster will be themed to Alien vs Predator, but due to the fact that Disney bought 20th century fox everything is about to change. Disney wants nothing to do with this park. Maybe all of theming needs to be changed because the franchise now belongs to Disney.

Fury - Bobbejaanland

After 15 years of waiting we can finally welcome another thrill rollercoaster to Bobbejaanland! Back in 2004 the last thrill coaster that opened in the park was Typhoon, the replacement of the beloved Schwarzkopf Looping Coaster. You love or hate that coaster, but it still is an amusing ride. Luckily for us this time no coaster needs to be removed for the new addition to the park. The manufacturer is the same as for Typhoon: Gerstlauer will do the job!
Like a hype in the theme park world, this coaster will have 3 launches: 2 forward and 1 backwards. It will be located in a new themed are named: Land of Legends. Other attractions will be rethemed such as the Typhoon and the Sledgehammer. The coaster will be the fastest of Belgium, with a top speed over 100 km/h. The whole area will be the biggest investment in the park so far, and a welcome addition to the parks ride catalogue. Our guess is that this coaster is going to be the wildest triple launch coaster so far in Europe.

Stats:
Length: 600 meters
Height: 43 meters
Speed: 102 km/h
Inversions: 4
Passengers per train: 12
Fun fact: The first Gerstlauer ever built was a bobsled coaster, which still is operating in Tripsdrill. It is no coincidence that this coaster opened in Tripsdrill, because the owner of Tripsdrill is a good friends with the owners of Gerstlauer. Tripsdrill also has the only wooden rollercoaster in the world built by Gerstlauer.

Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure - Islands of Adventure

2017 was a sad year: 2 B&M inverted coaster were shredded to pieces. Dragon Challenge is no more. Already a couple years ago these coasters lost a bit of magic because they didn't duel anymore, and that was the beginning of the end. But what will replace these coasters? Eventually things are getting clear: it will be an Intamin launch coaster! And not an ordinary one…
One of the most special coasters opening this year is the newest addition to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hogsmeade. The new coaster will have 6 launches, a drop track, a spike + backward section, lots dark ride sections and animatronics. The story is that you are seated on Hagrids bike, riding/flying through the wizarding world and the black forest visiting some of the weirdest creatures. The coaster will open on the 13th of june! So only 4 months away!

Stats:
Launches: 6
Unfortunately no other details are known at this moment
Fun fact: Another rumour was that this coaster would be a Mack Inverted Coaster like Arthur in Europapark. Universal Creatives loved this ride system. It is almost 100 procent sure that we are going to see this system somewhere else in the Universal Studios Universe.
